Show stopping and Showcasing

Today the showroom got a fresh look, a little bit of shuffling and re jigging. Sometimes when you look at something all the time it becomes a bit stale, a bit forgotten. Its amazing what can happen when you have a good play with all your favourite things, sometimes a piece develops a whole new dimension, or meaning or really shines brighter than it has before.
Thats what makes our cabinetry in the shop so brilliant. It show cases our show stoppers perfectly. It allows us to create vignettes of all proportions, scale or size. As well as making very efficient use of the height of the ceiling and walls.
Custom joinery and cabinets in a home are such a fantastic storage solution, Taking up wall space that may have stared blankly and allowing favourite things, books and objects to do there thing. And often a good place to put those special pieces you love at a height that those small hands just simply cant reach.
Life is too short to hide beautiful things, fill your shelves with memories, stories and the beauty that books and objects have to offer.
Heres some inspiration.

The glass doors, create a more organised and sophisticated solution, room by darryl Carter via Mark D Sikes.

So much personality here. Via Elle Decor

Im a huge fan of wall papering the back of the shelves to create contrast and the illusion of depth. Via House Beautiful.

A very clever solution that makes the most of floor space and wall space. An intimate and elegant room. Via Elle Decor.

While books are the obvious shelf occupier, there are only so many flat surfaces on a floor space to use. Objects and curiosity filled shelves are a tactile and interesting show stopper. Via Elle Decor.
