A current companion

The true Autumn weather has settled in nicely in Victoria. I love it. The colours in the sky, the leaves, the flowers, the smell of smoke from homes being warmed by a glowing cracking fire. A favourite activity is to be surrounded by books, magazines, cups of tea and dressed in the comfiest knitwear near a fire place, Grey skies outside, allowing the lamps and fire place to project the most perfect soft light.
As we are and i'm sure a lot of other people, collecting kindling, cleaning out the fire place and making the living room the key space for being at the moment. The fire place is the star of the show, rooms evolve around them , they are like the party host or a guest speaker.
Heres some fire place inspiration, From some of our favourite designers, magazines and blogs.

Via Architectural Digest-I could achieve some serious reading, work or creativity in this gorgeously layered space.

Brooke Sheilds living room via Architectural Digest- A perfect balance of feminine colours and heirloom pieces. I think this room sparked a frenzy for grey in paint stores.

Via a foo dog ate my home work- Raspberry, Tan , pink and blue and white. All layered over sisal. Some favourite classics of mine.

Also via a foo dog ate my homework- A clever storage solution for timber, Nothing worse than needing more timber when its raining outside, or for those in apartments, its a neat way to store your supply.

From Mark D Sikes home- One of our all time  favourites, not to mention that of many others.

A beautiful room by the master Michael S Smith, Huge fan of all his work.

This room in Elle Decor by my design hero Miles Redd, makes me seriously happy.

Brilliant spacial planning, colour selection and use of height in ceiling, Right? Via Elle Decor.
