Decorate to the beat of your own drum

One of the pieces we stock at Portobello home, that I would recommend to anyone as a bit of a no brainer decoration idea is a ceramic drum stool. So so versatile, Practical, functional and can handle weather and moisture too! The perfect seat for the bathroom or steam room, a small and handy side table come spare seat on the verandah when your having guests this summer. In the living room they will give your book, cup of tea or feet a stable place of rest and aside from such functionality they are quite simply gorgeous nested under your side board or adding colour or interest to a neutral space. With there smooth surface, range of motifs, colours and cut outs, theres styles to suit all range of room themes and colour ways. Below are some decorating idea with a number of drum stools. The blue & White is a classic, I believe almost every home could do with a splash of blue & white.

Seashells and sunshine.

When Melbourne displays weather like it has today, You can't help but feel lifted, inspired and find yourself with a colourful spring in your step. The doors of the shop are wide open, The heater is absolutely not needed and i'm unpacking the most outstanding order of sea shells. Our new shop in Balnarring has shone a new light on our collection, highlighting its flexibility in working in with many styles and environments, This little mood board of pictures below is inspired by the natural light and crystal waters of Balnarring beach, The delicate pinks in the sea shells i'm unpacking and the textures and motifs you will find in our broad range of ceramics and soft furnishings. Perhaps even the last month of fashion weeks in New York and Europe have also got me very excited about my summer wardrobe. Enjoy today, its on pointe! Thanks Melbourne.

Where it started

Since we've recently opened our Balnarring Village store, as well as our small team all having lived on the Mornington Peninsular for a long time,We've been talking pretty flat out about all that Balnarring and the surrounding areas, have to offer. An hour and a bit out of Melbourne and you feel like you've possibly landed somewhere in the Mediterranean at times. Natural beauty is abundant, the water is crystal clear, the air is crisp, the landscape is dynamic and the local cuisine is to die for. There is absolutely no shortage of outstanding food choices and as for wine, Its impossible to run out of options, several wineries from small boutique to large growers dot the peninsular.
The coast and the country marries perfectly together sharing unique and diverse scenery, exceptional produce and an endless supply of things to be seen, drank, eaten or just absorbed. Below are a few of my own favourite phtots that we have taken of little Balnarring moments. On the Western port side of the peninsular, Balnarring neighbours the likes of Red Hill, Merricks, Point Leo and Phillip Island. I'ts hard to summarise the magnitude of whats on offer, But these few photos showcase some of its raw, natural and diverse beauty. For ever inspiring and delicious.

With Spring comes colourful updates

Our blog has been a little bit dormant in Winter, But then again haven't we all? Winter is beautiful and moody and if you showcase at the trade fairs, its very busy! It was an eventful decor & design fair this year, we launched our new heirloom collection, a collection of hand carved wooden pieces developed to be extra special, special enough to be a family heirloom.
We have 3 new tables, a gorgeous new console, 3 new unique and equally delightful mirrors and a handful of playful golden objects. Our soft furnishings have been updated with more striking indigo throws, scatter cushions and bedspreads, even our ceramic blue and white collection gained a few new items.
Also, we are so thrilled to announce the biggest addition to our brand, Our second retail store, we've taken residency in Balnarring Beach shopping village, Opening Monday we will be carrying our entire collection. The Mornington Peninsular is a wonderful place to be and we cant wait to see our new customers this summer.
Im looking forward to putting more love into our blog, Posting lots of inspiration for the home,  and updates of new collections to the store. We love our Instagram to, so be sure to find us there.
